WHO ARE WE?

The Armed Citizen Project is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to training and arming residents in mid-high crime areas with defensive shotguns, for free!  In training and arming law-abiding residents, we are saturating neighborhoods with defensive weapons, and measuring the effect that a heavily armed society has on crime rates.

Our founder, Kyle Coplen, is a policy analyst in his final semester of the Masters of Public Administration program with the University of Houston.  Tired of the blatant manipulation and politicization of statistics when it comes to the relationship between firearms and safety, Kyle decided to conduct a multi-year, multi-city study that may be able to establish the definitive link that the gun debate is sorely lacking.

We are an organization that is not simply content to hold the line on guns.  If the fight does not come to us, we will go to it.  We are also training and arming single women in high crime areas, competing against gun buybacks, calling out anti-gun politicians as being pro-crime, and fighting the anti-gun establishment in general.   We are pissing off all of the right (left) people, having a blast doing it.  We hope that you join our fight today.

Free Gun Program Plans To Expand To North Texas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Calvin Carter lives in South Dallas’ Sunny Acres neighborhood, an area that has worked hard to keep crime out but it has been a struggle.
Last July Dallas Police suited up in riot gear and tried to control an angry mob right behind Carter’s home.
Officers were called to the area for what turned out to be a setup between rivalry gangs over drug turf.
It ended with one man being fatally shot by a Dallas officer.
But a new program is getting Carter’s attention.
The Armed Citizen Project is raising money to give free guns to residents living in high-crime areas and to single women — so they can defend themselves against criminals.
Based in Houston– the group now wants to expand to Dallas.
“It sounds good but you have to be careful,” said Carter.
“It’s good to be able to have weapons in case something happens to you or your family when you’re not there, that weapon could save them.”
In order to get a free gun you have to pass a background check and complete a safety training course.
You also have to have lived at your current address for at least a year.


The group’s gun of choice is a single shot shotgun.
Gun expert Tom Mannewitz with Target Masters in Garland told CBS11′s Sharrie Williams that the group may have chosen the single-shot shotgun because its one of the least expensive weapons to purchase.
But Mannewitz says it’s also the most effective weapon protecting you and your home.
“With a handgun the projectile is very slender so it’s easier to miss your target,” explained Mannewitz. ” With a shotgun, even at distances of 12 feet which is average distance across the room, you have a pattern of 6 inches in diameter so even if you’re off, you’re still likely to have something in the target.”
The free gun program is controversial — and drawing criticism.
“That appalls me completely,” said Lynne Weber. “I’m against having guns in our society. I want gun control. I think doing that would not empower women but endanger them and everyone around them.”
Gun sales have spiked nationwide in the past months as the debate over gun control has been front center after shootings in Newtown, Connecticut killed 20 children and seven adults.
But only time will tell if this free gun program will resonate with residents living in North Texas.

State Sen. Malcolm Smith and city Councilman Dan Halloran were arrested this morning on charges they were plotting to rig this year’s mayoral election through fraud and bribes. The pols allegedly formed an alliance built on cash payments and fraud to get Smith — one of the state’s top Democrats — placed on the GOP mayoral ballot, sources said. FBI agents arrested them both at their Queens homes shortly after 6 a.m. “I have no idea,” Halloran, in handcuffs, told a Post reporter when asked if he knew why he was being arrested.

Dem state Sen. Malcolm Smith is to be charged by the feds today in an alleged plot to get Smith on the GOP mayoral ballot.

Smith would not say anything as he was hauled off. FBI officials confirmed the arrests.
“Elected officials are called public servants because they are supposed to serve the people. Public service is not supposed to be a shortcut to self-enrichment," FBI Assistant Director George Venizelos said in a written statement today.
"People in New York, in Spring Valley -- in any city or town in this country -- rightly expect their elected or appointed representatives to hold themselves to a higher standard. At the very least, public officials should obey the law.
"As alleged, these defendants did not obey the law; they broke the law and the public trust. There is a price to pay for that kind of betrayal.”
Prosecutors are planning to lay out the whole sordid scheme during a news conference later today.
“Today’s charges demonstrate, once again, that a show-me-the-money culture seems to pervade every level of New York government. The complaint describes an unappetizing smorgasbord of graft and greed involving six officials who together built a corridor of corruption stretching from Queens and the Bronx to Rockland County and all the way up to Albany itself, "US Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement.
"As alleged, Senator Malcolm Smith tried to bribe his way to a shot at Gracie Mansion – Smith drew up the game plan and Councilman Halloran essentially quarterbacked that drive by finding party chairmen who were wide open to receiving bribes. After the string of public corruption scandals that we have brought to light, many may rightly resign themselves to the sad truth that perhaps the most powerful special interest in politics is self-interest.

Obama Proclaims April the Month to Teach Young People ‘How to Budget Responsibly’

(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama, who has increased the national debt by $53,377 per household, has proclaimed April “National Financial Capability Month,” during which his administration will do things such as teach young people “how to budget responsibly."
“I call upon all Americans to observe this month with programs and activities to improve their understanding of financial principles and practices,” Obama said in an official proclamation released Friday.
“My Administration is dedicated to helping people make sound decisions in the marketplace,” he said.
"Together, we can prepare young people to tackle financial challenges--from learning how to budget responsibly to saving for college, starting a business, or opening a retirement account,” he said.
“My Administration continues to encourage responsibility at all levels of our financial system by cracking down on deceptive practices and ensuring that consumers are informed of their rights,” he said.

I would hope that the first person Enrolled in this course would be President Obama himself. He might learn that this is not how he should be spending his day at work.

The Cold War +

Not since the days of JFK has the US been under a greater threat than it is now. Everybody likes to look back at Jack Kennedy like he was some sort master President. JFK was nothing but a pretty face, but he had several things going for him and he knew how to use them.

First he was charming, and smart, So is Obama. Kennedy also had not only a miltary at it's peak, but one that was putting out advanced weapon systems on an almost quarterly basis. Obama started with a miltary that was honed and battle tested. Here is where the two men that are loved similarly drift vastly apart.

Kennedy was a Democrat true, but by today's standards he would be considered a radical right wing neocon, Where if you look at Obama honestly he would be called a Communist.

Kennedy slashed taxes and used the growth in government revenue to build our military and our space program. Obama has increased taxes and quadrupled spending money via credit while reducing our military and ending our space program.

Kennedy confronted our threats and our enemy's head on and with a serious threat of force behind him. Obama has appeased our enemy's to the point of offering to sit down with terrorists, and sending private messages to the Iranians through the Swiss that he supports their right to access to all things Nuclear, while at the same time he slashes our military and retreats on every front. He even went to bed and slept like a baby as one of our embassy's was overrun and our ambassador killed, then got up and went to Vegas.

Right now we have both China and Russia building their respective military to levels not seen since WWII. We have a Middle East that is on fire. Sunni and Shia are killing each other in the streets in every nation only occasionally pausing to hold I hat Israel or the United States rallies. The North Koreans have openly declared War on the US and South Korea and may actually start shooting while the are led by a loon from a long line of loons that is truly crazy.

The Iranians are funding every Terror group across the globe while they have reached the assembly point of Nuclear Weapons. Weapons that they intend to use.

And what are we doing? Kvetching over the catastrophic 2% cut of a Governmental budget that spends $5 for every $2 it takes in.

My friends there is a shit storm coming, and we about to get fucked!

I have had to change the appearance of my blog to get comments to work. I don't like it but it is what it is.

For those that have never encountered me look at the Picture to your left, the Header above, the About me block, and finally the two songs in the My Music post right below this one.

I don't like the current regime that is in the White House, not too thrilled with the GOP either. I am a Conservative, and a Constitutionalist.

I am not a Member of the NRA, but I do support them. I believe that the RNC needs to be disenfranchised, the quicker the better. We are being lead by a pack of inbred professional politicians that need to be put out to pasture.

This blog will be on events that catch my interest, along with the occasional musical interlude. All are welcome, All will be treated the same. Loony Liberal to Right Wing Fanatic.

At this point I will re-post an important view of mine. Besides the fact that I see America in the most dire straights since it's founding. This is what I see in my heart.

The True symbol of The US

The true symbol that represents the US is not uncle Sam, or the Eagle. The Flag may be our label but the symbol of the Heart of America is embodied in one of our comic book heros. The Batman. Think about it, he is just a man after all. Yet he fights for what he feels is right. He doesn't fight fair, he scares the hell out of those that he chooses to oppose. No super powers, just determination, an unbreakable will, a lot of really neat high tech gadgets. and the willingness to get bloody in the fight for justice. With an inner heart that truly believes that he can make a differance along with the understanding that he must do what he does because he can. Like him we are viewed as the vigilante, and like him we don't care. The rules weren't made so as to allow evil to get away with evil, even though that is how other nations seem to want to apply those rules. You must sometimes break the rules for what is good and right. the end can justify the means.

A Principled Conservative Voice, there's the rub. How does one maintain a principled voice when surrounded by unprincipled people? You can't. you can only be yourself and hope to maintain a little of your own principles.

I couldn't do that. I lost my principles, and descended into pettiness. I had my antagonists, mostly my fellow Americans, but it was I that lost it.  I was raised better than I acted.

To any of my former colleagues from ATW that perchance read this I'm sorry. I leave for the betterment of the group, which many have already pointed out.

I regret my part in the shambles. There are those of you I will miss. I don't believe my views will be missed though. The host and one are two others are in a swarm of those that don't hold to the simple goal stated in the above mission statement.

David you are my friend, and I owe you many thanks. For your generosity, your tolerance, and above all else your friendship. For years you allowed me to voice a side of the U.S. that is not heard on your shores. I thank you for giving me that platform, knowing at times it cost you.

I wanted to make that statement public. I hope you get to see it.
I am truly sorry and heartbroken.

They took their money in Cyprus

There are $91 Trillion Dollars in the American Citizens 401Ks.

There has already been talk during the first 4 years of Obama's Regime about seizing this money. Back in 2010 our Vice Village Idiot floated the idea.

In February, the White House released its “Annual Report on the Middle Class” containing new regulations favored by Big Labor including a bailout of critically underfunded union pension plans through “retirement security” options.
The radical solution most favored by Big Labor is the seizure of private 401(k) plans for government disbursement — which lets them off the hook for their collapsing retirement scheme.  And, of course, the Obama administration is eager to accommodate their buddies.
Vice President Joe Biden floated the idea, called “Guaranteed Retirement Accounts” (GRAs), in the February “Middle Class” report.
In conjunction with the report’s release, the Obama administration jointly issued through the Departments of Labor and Treasury a “Request for Information” regarding the “annuitization” of 401(k) plans through “Lifetime Income Options” in the form of a notice to the public of proposed issuance of rules and regulations. Now this was 3 years ago before the Debt was at 16 Trillion. Remember by the time this Regime Leaves office the National Debt will hit 20 Trillion. The unfunded Debt from Medicare is already $55 Trillion.

After what the EU did to Cyprus, and are planning to do to Spain, Italy, Portugal, and possibly France. Do you really think that the current lot in the WhiteHouse wouldn't do just what is proposed above?

I mean it would be for the Common Good. Only Rich people with good jobs can have a 401K, and besides that's all pre-Taxed Money. It's just not fair.

Time to come home

I spend most of my political commentary on a wonderful sight It's called ATW. It's a blog based in Northern Ireland. It discuses World, British, Irish, and American Politics. The Host David Vance is a true gentleman. He has run for office himself in Northern Ireland and is a successful businessman. 

It is however time to come carry the fight for Conservative Political beliefs back to my home shore. 

I no longer have an audience here in the States, hopefully that will change as my blog comes back to life.

The Battle over Gay Marriage

The Battle over Gay Marriage is not a subject I usually discuss. Personally I don’t care what people do with their sexuality. I also am a supporter of civil unions. A couple no matter what it is made up of deserve certain rights. Equal in the eye of the Law.
Not however equal in the eye of God. Some of you don’t believe in God, the majority of the people of the World do.
Marriage is a word that implies the sanctification of a couples Union in eye of God. A gay couple can not get that. Sorry but that is the way it is. Civil Unions have won all the same rights in every legal sense as a marriage, yet this has not been enough for the Gay community.
Their single goal is to get it recognized by the courts so that suit can be brought against Religious organizations under the discrimination Laws. Just as the Catholic Church under these laws and Obama Care is being forced to fund abortions and the Pill against the beliefs of their faith, so to does the Gay community wish to force the Church to perform Marriage between a couple of the same gender.
That’s what this is about. How the Nine Holy Lawyers who Dictate unelected from the bench will decide I couldn’t tell you. What I can tell you is the 36 times that Gay Marriage has been Voted on by the People it has been defeated in every case by vast majorities. This is what the Left does, when they lose their case in the arena of public opinion the find a court to FORCE their view on a majority that does not believe or support their position.
