Sad But True
The Terry Anderson Show:
Maywood CA: Mexican Flag Flies Over US Post Office
From Todd: No, this is not an American Flag Banning Elementary School, or a High school. The building in the photo above is the Maywood, California United States Post Office, where officials failed to restore the American Flag to it's rightful place! Save Our State, "SOS" and the Minutemen were there this past weekend protesting the fact that Maywood is a "Sanctuary City." Violence broke out in what was termed by radio talk show host Terry Anderson as another outrageous event that is not going to get any media coverage! Maywood Police, visible in the photo, reportedly did nothing to quell threats, acts of physical violence, foul language insults or the desecration of the American Flag, all on the grounds of a United States Post Office! What's next? Read a first hand account of this 'rude awakening' from a citizen who visited the rally there in Maywood. Read more about it on Terry's website....

THE MIDEAST’S MUNICH
THE MIDEAST’S MUNICH
War with Mullahs is Coming
by Arthur Herman, Think-Israel
HISTORIANS will look back at this weekend’s cease-fire agreement in Lebanon as a pivotal moment in the war on terror. It is pivotal in the same sense that the Munich agreement between Adolf Hitler and Neville Chamberlain was pivotal in an earlier battle against the enemies of freedom. The accord in October 1938 revealed to the world that the solidarity of the Western allies was a sham, and that the balance of power had shifted to the fascist dictators.
Resolution 1701 shows that, for the time being at least, the balance has likewise shifted to the terrorists and their state sponsors. Like Munich, it marks the triumph of the principle of putting off until tomorrow what needs to be done today. Like Munich, it will mean no peace in our time, but a bigger war in our future. This Guy won't live long

A senior member of Hamas has broken a taboo by calling on Palestinians to stop blaming Israel for all their ills and look instead at their own failures.
Ghazi Hamad, the Hamas government's official spokesman, said Palestinians had been "attacked by the bacteria of stupidity".
"The anarchy, chaos, pointless murders, the plundering of lands, family feuds … what do all of these have to do with the occupation?" he asked in the opinion piece published in the Palestinian newspaper, al-Ayyam. "We have always been accustomed to pinning our failures on others, and conspiratorial thinking is still widespread among us."
He was particularly scathing about the failure of the Palestinians to make a success of the Gaza Strip, the territory that Israel effectively surrendered a year ago.
"When you walk around in Gaza, you cannot help but avert your eyes from what you see: indescribable anarchy, policemen that nobody cares about, youth proudly carrying weapons. From time to time you hear that so-and-so was murdered in the middle of the night, and the response comes quickly the next morning. Large families carry weapons in tribal wars against other families.
"The reality in which we are living in Gaza can only be described as miserable and wretched, and as a failure in every sense of the word." His description resonates with what many outsiders find when they leave the orderly roads and fields of Israel and cross into Gaza, a dirty, crowded coastal strip teeming with 1.4 million people.
Israel can be blamed for many of Gaza's problems but there is plenty of evidence to support Mr Hamad's thesis, that the kidnapping, lawlessness and social chaos are, at least partly, homegrown.
He said his article was his private opinion.
But it is a sign of growing division between Hamas members living in the Palestinian territories and exiles living elsewhere, including the leadership in Damascus.
The exiles take a hard-line attitude, insisting on militants continuing to fire Qassam rockets from Gaza into Israel. But people, such as Mr Hamad, who live in Gaza seem to have lost patience with these tactics.
The rockets have killed only four Israelis, yet hundreds of Palestinians have died in Israeli retribution.

Piggybacking Political Clout Onto Terrorism In Britain
08/29/2006
Two days after August 10 - when British authorities broke up an alleged plot to blow up multiple aircraft over the Atlantic Ocean - the "moderate" Muslim establishment in Britain published an aggressive open letter to Prime Minister Tony Blair. It suggested that Blair could better fight terrorism if he recognized that current British government policy, especially with regard to "the debacle of Iraq," provides "ammunition to extremists." The letter writers demanded he change his foreign policy to "make us all safer." One prominent signatory, Labour MP Sadiq Khan, added that Blair's reluctance to criticize Israel increased the pool of people from which terrorists can recruit. In other words, Islamists working within the system exploited the thwarted Islamist terror plot to pressure the British government to implement their joint wishes and reverse British policy in the Middle East. Lawful Islamists shamelessly leveraged the near-death of thousands to forward their agenda.Despite its reported fears of Muslim street unrest, the Blair government heatedly rejected the letter. Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett called it "the gravest possible error." Foreign Office minister Kim Howells dismissed it as "facile." Home Secretary John Reid deemed it a "dreadful misjudgment [to think that the] foreign policy of this country should be shaped in part, or in whole, under the threat of terrorism activity." Transport Secretary Douglas Alexander rejected the letter as "dangerous and foolish."Undaunted, the "moderate" Muslim establishment pushed even harder on the domestic front. In an August 14 meeting with high government representatives, including the deputy prime minister, it made two further demands: that a pair of Islamic religious festivals become official holidays and that Islamic laws pertaining to marriage and family life be applied in the United Kingdom. A Muslim present at the meeting later warned the government against any plans to profile airport passengers, lest this step further radicalize Muslim youths. Why these ultimata and why at this time? The leader of the August 14 Muslim delegation, Syed Aziz Pasha, explained his group's logic: "We told [the politicians] if you give us religious rights, we will be in a better position to convince young people that they are being treated equally along with other citizens." More ominously, Pasha threatened the government leaders. "We are willing to co-operate but there should be a partnership. They should understand our problems, then we will understand their problems."The press reacted furiously to these demands. The Guardian's Polly Toynbee condemned the open letter as "perilously close to suggesting the government had it coming." The Daily Mirror's Sue Carroll portrayed Pasha's position as "perilously close to blackmail." This was not the first such attempt by "moderate" British Muslim leaders at political ju-jitsu, to translate Islamist violence into political clout. The same happened, if less aggressively, in the aftermath of the July 2005 London bombings, when they piggybacked on the death of 52 innocents to demand British forces out of Iraq. That pressure did succeed, and in two main ways. First, the Home Office subsequently issued a report produced by "moderate" Muslims, "Preventing Extremism Together," that formally accepted this appeasing approach. As Dean Godson of Policy Exchange summarizes the document, Islamist terror "provided a wonderful, unexpected opportunity for these moderates to demand more power and money from the State."Piggybacking on terror worked, second, in that a recent poll shows 72 percent of British subjects now accepting the Islamist view that Blair's "backing for action in Iraq and Afghanistan" has made Britain more of a target for terrorists, while a negligible 1 percent say the policies have improved the country's safety. The public solidly backs the Islamists, not the prime minister.I have argued that terrorism generally obstructs the progress of radical Islam in the West by stimulating hostility to Muslims and bringing Islamic organizations under unwanted scrutiny. I must admit, however, that the evidence from Britain - where the 7/7 terrorism inspired more self-recrimination than it did fury against jihad - suggests that violence can also strengthen lawful Islamism. And here's another reconsideration: while I maintain that the future of Europe - whether continuing in its historic Christian identity or becoming an adjunct of Muslim North Africa - is still an open question, the behavior of the British public, that weakest link in the Western chain, suggests that it, at least, may be too confused to resist its Londonistan destiny.
The Fraud of the MSM
Plame Out
The ridiculous end to the scandal that distracted Washington.
By Christopher Hitchens
Posted Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at 1:02 PM ET
I had a feeling that I might slightly regret the title ("Case Closed") of my July 25 column on the Niger uranium story. I have now presented thousands of words of evidence and argument to the effect that, yes, the Saddam Hussein regime did send an important Iraqi nuclear diplomat to Niger in early 1999. And I have not so far received any rebuttal from any source on this crucial point of contention. But there was always another layer to the Joseph Wilson fantasy. Easy enough as it was to prove that he had completely missed the West African evidence that was staring him in the face, there remained the charge that his nonreport on a real threat had led to a government-sponsored vendetta against him and his wife, Valerie Plame.
In his July 12 column in the Washington Post, Robert Novak had already partly exposed this paranoid myth by stating plainly that nobody had leaked anything, or outed anyone, to him. On the contrary, it was he who approached sources within the administration and the CIA and not the other way around. But now we have the final word on who did disclose the name and occupation of Valerie Plame, and it turns out to be someone whose opposition to the Bush policy in Iraq has—like Robert Novak's—long been a byword in Washington. It is particularly satisfying that this admission comes from two of the journalists—Michael Isikoff and David Corn—who did the most to get the story wrong in the first place and the most to keep it going long beyond the span of its natural life.
As most of us have long suspected, the man who told Novak about Valerie Plame was Richard Armitage, Colin Powell's deputy at the State Department and, with his boss, an assiduous underminer of the president's war policy. (His and Powell's—and George Tenet's—fingerprints are all over Bob Woodward's "insider" accounts of post-9/11 policy planning, which helps clear up another nonmystery: Woodward's revelation several months ago that he had known all along about the Wilson-Plame connection and considered it to be no big deal.) The Isikoff-Corn book, which is amusingly titled Hubris, solves this impossible problem of its authors' original "theory" by restating it in a passive voice:
The disclosures about Armitage, gleaned from interviews with colleagues,
friends and lawyers directly involved in the case, underscore one of the ironies
of the Plame investigation: that the initial leak, seized on by administration
critics as evidence of how far the White House was willing to go to smear an
opponent, came from a man who had no apparent intention of harming anyone.
The Free Jack Idema Blogburst
One of the biggest problems faced by those of us who campaign, week-in, week-out for the release of falsely-imprisoned U.S. Special Forces soldier Jack Idema and his compatriot Brent Bennett is the fact that mud sticks.
What this has meant for Jack and Brent is that the outright lies that they were guilty of kidnapping and torture have been repeated so often that many people assume there must be some truth behind the allegations. There isn't.
The section of Jack's counter-terrorist work, then, that has bearing on his arrest and the charges brought against him involved:
- Arresting suspected terrorists.
- Interrogating them in order to obtain actionable intelligence.
First, then, was Jack entitled to make arrests? The U.S. State Department and Karzai denied that this was the case, and, further, claimed Jack was never operating in an official capacity. However, if this was really the case, we need to ask ourselves how it is that Jack is able to provide ample photographic evidence to the contrary? Indeed, the attempts to deny Idema was involved in official counter-terrorism operations in Afghanistan begin to look more than a little shaky when you see pictures of him:
- Leading columns of Northern Alliance troops
- Rescuing civilians from earthquake-hit regions
- Meeting with no less than five top Afghan Generals
Second, did Jack torture anyone? This is, more than anything else, the aspect of the case that disturbed most people at the time of the first (September 2004) trial. Here's what Jack and his men were accused of in early press-reports:
These terrorists, who were working directly for Osama bin Laden and Gulbideen Hekmatyar, both on America’s Most Wanted list, now claim they were tortured and abused; now claim we smashed their heads in bloody bags, cut off fingers, poured boiling water on them, hung them upside down and dipped them in boiling water, repeatedly burned them with cigarettes, beat them day and night, and refused to feed them.Certainly, this makes for grim reading ... Only, here's the thing: No evidence that any of this took place has ever been presented. None.
When the terrorists Jack and his team arrested appeared in court to give evidence against him, all were in good health, with nary a scold, cigarette-burn, missing finger or bashed head in sight. Also, no photographic or forensic evidence of the alleged 'torture' was produced, and all Jack's accusers refused to be sworn in (on the Koran) before giving testimony. Most tellingly, witnesses claimed that the head-basing and finger-chopping took place in the basement of Jack's house. One, small problem with this claim is that the property in question had no basement.
So that's the 'case' against Jack Idema and his team. Now here's Jack himself, describing the real methods he used:
We kept them awake with 24 hours of non-stop questioning, played loud Rock and Roll music and offered to let them work for us if they would turn over on the others. All that we questioned turned on each other. When one didn’t, we did not beat him, we simple confronted him with two that were cooperating and he quickly decided to join the same team.So who do we believe? A group of known terrorists making claims that they either cannot substantiate or which are demonstrably untrue (Jack's vanishing basement, the absence of bashed-in heads and missing fingers)? Or a U.S. Special Forces soldier with decades of service to his country behind him? Whatever the MSM who so-uncritically covered the case might think, this isn't a trick question.
Once they told us a little we gave them non-stop Miranda soda and restaurant kabob and promises of a new job working against terrorism.
The soldiers in Iraq that claim their abuse of prisoners was ordered by MI (Military Intelligence) are liars. You only have a few days at most to get actionable intelligence. Let a terrorist sit in a cell and you lose the initiative to find the others. Beat the terrorists and he admits to anything or nothing. Again you lose. Humiliate the terrorist and he hates you and feeds you lies.
Your only way to get the terrorists to talk is sleep deprivation, promises for freedom if he gives up the other terrorists, and convincing the terrorist you are his friend.
So what can we do? Well, anyone reading this with their own blog can sign up for the weekly Free Jack Idema Blogburst by emailing Cao or Rottweiler Puppy for details. I'd urge everyone to do this, as we're still terribly short on takers. If you want to know more about the story, Cao's Blog has a large section devoted to Jack Idema. There's also a timeline here, and, of course, a huge amount of information is available over at SuperPatriots;, without whose work none of us would have learned about Jack's story.

Israel may 'go it alone' against Iran
One senior source said on Tuesday that Iran "flipped the world the bird" by not responding positively to the Western incentive plan to stop uranium enrichment. He expressed frustration that the Russians and Chinese were already saying that Iran's offer of a "new formula" and willingness to enter "serious negotiations" was an opening to keep on talking.
"The Iranians know the world will do nothing," he said. "This is similar to the world's attempts to appease Hitler in the 1930s - they are trying to feed the beast."
He said there was a need to understand that "when push comes to shove," Israel would have to be prepared to "slow down" the Iranian nuclear threat by itself.

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem: Bush is 'Either Hitler of 21st Century or No. 1 Int'l Criminal'; Lebanese Army 'To Defend South Lebanon From Israel' While UNIFIL to 'Serve Lebanese Army'
"To Those Who Say: 'Look At The Destruction,' I Respond: Who Caused This Destruction? Israel"
Interviewer: "Some people in Lebanon hold you responsible, because you initiated the capture of the two soldiers, which led to this war."
Naim Qassem: "The capture of the two soldiers is worth about 500 sorties, the destruction of about 200 homes, the attacking of 10-12 posts of the resistance, the targeting of three or four leaders. It has its limits. But when there is a war of this kind - a war which Rice called the war of the New Middle East, and with which [Israeli Prime Minister] Olmert said he wanted to change the rules of the game... Even in Resolution 1701 the two prisoners are not mentioned."
[...]
"To those who say: 'Look at the destruction,' I respond: Who caused this destruction? Israel did. Unless they believe that instead of the Israelis continuing to threaten like this, when we took the two prisoners, we should have returned them, and said 'OK.'
"Let me tell you a joke. A man was teaching his son. He said to him, 'Let's start with the alphabet. Say A.' The son said: 'I can't.' The father smacked him, and said: 'Say A.' The son said: 'I can't.' So he smacked him a second time. Eventually he said: This is no solution. If I keep on smacking him like this, I'll finish him off. Let's see what his story is. He said to him: 'Son, why won't you say A?' The son answered: 'Father, If I say A, you'll read me all the letters of the alphabet, and I don't want to reach the end.'
"As for those who now say: Let's give up... When they said: Give up the 1948 territories, we ended up with the 1967 territories. They said: Come on, let's give up the 1967 territories - we ended up with the Oslo Accords. They said: Come on, let's give up Oslo - we ended up with the road map. They gave up the road map - we ended up with the Tenet plan. They gave up Tenet - we ended up with the wall. They gave up the wall... There is no end to it. These people have no limits. This logic of surrender means that we will lose Lebanon."
[...]
Bush is "Either Hitler of the 21st Century or No. 1 International Criminal"
Interviewer: "American President George Bush sees things differently. He believes Hizbullah was defeated in this war. What do you have to say to him?"
Naim Qassem: "I was looking for a suitable description for George Bush. I came up with two descriptions: either Hitler of the 21st century or the number one international criminal. He's nothing but a pharaoh who thinks the world can be run by force, and he does not realize that nations have feelings and concerns."
[...]
"We declared from the outset that Resolution [1701] is unfair and unjust, because it places the responsibility on us, while ignoring Israel, as if it bears no responsibility for what happened, even though Israel was the aggressor, which wreaked this tremendous destruction, and violated human rights."
[...]
"Nobody can impose terms on us, or commit us to anything we do not believe in. Let me be clear: Israel won't get through politics what it didn't get through war, even if the UN resolution gave this to Israel - in spirit only, not in the details. We have an interpretation and understanding of our own, and we believe that this issue should be handled by the Lebanese state, and that we must reach an understanding within the government."
[...]
"We should negotiate all issues among ourselves, and reach an understanding. That is the right path, not to wave a stick. What they couldn't do through war, they want to do by peaceful means? It doesn't work like that."
[...]
Lebanese Army to "Defend South Lebanon From Israelis"; UNIFIL to "Be at the Service of Lebanese Army"
Interviewer: "But don't you think that the Lebanese government is committed vis-Ã -vis the international community to implement this resolution? As a party, you can 'evade' this resolution, so to speak, but the government has pledged to implement this resolution, and is committed vis-Ã -vis the international community to implement it."
Naim Qassem: "The government has relations with the international community, and it can convey the domestic state of affairs in Lebanon to the international community, and can say to it: We want to reach an understanding among ourselves."
[...]
"The basic mission of the army, as we understand it, is to defend South Lebanon from the Israelis."
Interviewer: "That's the Lebanese army, but what about UNIFIL, the international forces? Does Hizbullah have any specific conditions regarding the international forces that will come to Lebanon? In other words, will you veto certain nationalities, or certain tasks that these forces could fulfill?"
Naim Qassem: "UNIFIL, according to the U.N. resolution and according to the implementation, will be at the service of the Lebanese army. In other words, whenever the Lebanese army needs them, it will ask for their help. They will not carry out missions on their own."
Interviewer: "Is that your interpretation, or does it appear in the resolution?"
Naim Qassem: "It appears in the resolution."
Interviewer: "Article 12 states that UNIFIL is authorized to take all necessary action to ensure that its area of operations is not utilized for hostile activities, and to resist attempts by forceful means to prevent it from discharging its duties."
Naim Qassem: "This refers to hostile activities that Israel might commit, because we do not carry out hostile activities."
[...]
Interviewer: "Will the operations in the Shaba' Farms continue?"
Naim Qassem: "This requires some consideration, and I would prefer not to respond right now, because this is a sensitive issue that requires deliberation, according to the developments. Allah willing, we will give our response soon."

Netanyahu insists on state inquiry into war
Ynet
Published:
08.22.06, 22:34
Opposition leader MK Benjamin Netanyahu called on the government to authorize a state commission to probe deficiencies in the army's and the government's conduct in the war with Hizbullah .
Speaking on Channel 2 TV, Netanyahu said: "I say this unexcitedly, there must be a probe. The government itself said so. We have to prevent a hopeless situation the next time."
Netanyahu said the scale of the failures in stemming rocket fire and in assisting northern residents during 34-days of fighting require an inquiry.
Asked whether his calls are aimed at smearing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert 's government for political gain, Netanyahu said his Likud party stood behind the government throughout the war but now that the fighting ended, criticism is legitimate.
Netanyahu rejected claims that cuts to the defense budget over the last four years impaired the army's level of preparedness for war, arguing that under his tenure as finance minister between 2003 and 2005 the defense budget increased.
Olmert's days are short"The problem is not to find the guilty but to draw lessons. The lessons are what we should do ahead of the next round. If we don't draw lessons, not only will we have a second round but it will end badly," Netanyahu said.
Asked whether he trusts Olmert's leadership in securing a safer and stronger Israel, Netanyahu said he won't be dragged into finger pointing at political rival, choosing instead to outline what he believes are five pressing issues for Israel : ensuring Iran doesn't acquire nuclear arms, strengthening the Israel Defense Forces, rehabilitating the north, implementing economic reforms and abolishing endemic corruption and bureaucracy in state institutions.
Netanyahu sounded pessimistic when asked if his Likud party would join Kadima as a coalition partner if the current coalition with Labor breaks up. Netanyahu charged that Kadima lacks a clear vision for Israel as evident in Olmert declaration that his realignment plan of withdrawing thousands of settlers from the West Bank is no longer on the government's agenda.
He said the current government won't be in power till the end of its term, expressing his confidence in Likud's ability to "lead the public to a better and more secure future."

Over my last 2 weeks of exile from the blogosphere I have been gone but not idle. During my absence from the computer a major front of the war was engaged and then lost with diplomacy, an extreme leftist lost a primary because his party threw him out because he understands the threat against us, and an idiot who should atleast fade away, since he doesn't have the decency to die, provided a Mad Man a propaganda victory that couldn't have been done any sweeter if the best script writers in Hollywood had written it for him. Top that all off with my industry being part of another terrorist attack.
Another thing that took place is I acquired a satellite radio. As punishment for not blogging I have forced myself to suffer listening to Air America. Those people are not only stupid they are certifiably nutz and dangerous. Listening to the lunacy filled me with both dread and hope. Dread over the realization that a third of our nation are lemmings being driven over the cliff by hate filled loons just as the myth of the lemmings voluntarily running off the cliff was found out later to be a fraud, so will the future prove that the human lemmings we call Democrats be shown for the fraud that a few American politburo communists and useful idiots are perpetrating, the political communists Dean, Pelosi, the Clintons etc..etc.. only care about power.
Randi Rhodes has to be the most ignorant useful idiot that has ever walked the face of the earth. This SheBeast is a walking, talking pustule on the ass of life. This thing ignores every failure of the Clinton presidency and credits things like the capturing millenium bomber (that they had no part in capturing) as one of Clinton's successes. The only thing greater than her spin of falsehoods is her unending selflove.

Nuclear Attack on Israel or US on the 22nd of Aug
Tue Aug 08 2006 10:22:35 ET
In a WALL STREET JOURNAL op-ed Tuesday, Princeton's Bernard Lewis writes: "There is a radical difference between the Islamic Republic of Iran and other governments with nuclear weapons. This difference is expressed in what can only be described as the apocalyptic worldview of Iran's present rulers."
"In Islam as in Judaism and Christianity, there are certain beliefs concerning the cosmic struggle at the end of time -- Gog and Magog, anti-Christ, Armageddon, and for Shiite Muslims, the long awaited return of the Hidden Imam, ending in the final victory of the forces of good over evil, however these may be defined."
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad "and his followers clearly believe that this time is now, and that the terminal struggle has already begun and is indeed well advanced. It may even have a date, indicated by several references by the Iranian president to giving his final answer to the US about nuclear development by Aug. 22," which this year corresponds "to the 27th day of the month of Rajab of the year 1427. This, by tradition, is the night when many Muslims commemorate the night flight of the prophet Muhammad on the winged horse Buraq, first to 'the farthest mosque,' usually identified with Jerusalem, and then to heaven and back (c.f., Koran XVII.1).
"This might well be deemed an appropriate date for the apocalyptic ending of Israel and if necessary of the world. It is far from certain that Mr. Ahmadinejad plans any such cataclysmic events precisely for Aug. 22. But it would be wise to bear the possibility in mind."

Hezbooha or Hamass Agents Missing in NY...
VANISH IN BIG APPLE
By DAN MANGAN
August 8, 2006 -- Eleven Egyptian students who were supposed to travel to a Montana university after flying to JFK airport late last month disappeared in New York, spurring federal authorities to issue a nationwide alert, officials said yesterday.
The students - who were traveling with six classmates from Mansoura University in Egypt - had their student visas revoked for failing to show up at Montana State University in Bozeman, the officials said.
The other six students made it to the college.
"The FBI and ICE [Immigration and Custom Enforcement] would like to locate these 11 students in order to speak with them," said FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko after the "be-on-the-lookout" alert was issued to all police in the United States.
Kolko said there is no reason to believe the missing students, all men around 20 years old, represent a threat.
"At this point, all they have done is not show up for a scheduled academic program, and their visas have been revoked," Kolko said.
"We do not know of any association with any terrorist or criminal groups. There is no threat associated with these men. We have simply asked law enforcement's assistance in locating them so that the FBI and ICE may interview them."
Rep. Peter King (R-L.I.), who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee, said the situation "has to be taken very seriously."
"Having a number of students from an Arab country arriving on student visas and disappearing is cause for concern," he said.
Montana State University Provost David Dooley said 17 Mansoura University students signed up for a 32-day cultural-exchange program to intensively study English, learn about Montana history and go on several field trips.
They arrived at JFK on a flight from Egypt on July 29, but only one managed to clear immigration in time to make a connecting flight, Dooley said.
By July 31, five others had arrived in Bozeman, but the rest were unaccounted for.
Dooley said the ones who showed up "were not certain about the status of their fellow students and why they haven't made it."
MSU alerted federal Homeland Security and Mansoura officials and notified the students via e-mail they had 24 hours to show up in Bozeman. None of them did, Dooley said.
He added, "We're very disappointed by this. It would be regrettable if the misadventures or irresponsibility of a number of students damaged these kinds of programs."
Officials at the Egyptian Consulate in New York and the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, D.C., said they were unfamiliar with the situation.

Iran will counter at attack with 100 times greater force - general
Tehran, Iran, Aug. 07 – The Supreme Commandant of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps criticised on Monday Arab countries for their “inaction” towards “the killing of Muslims” in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Palestine by the “leaders of the United States, Britain, the Zionist regime, and their allies”.
Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said that Washington and Tel Aviv had been “defeated” in their battle with the Lebanese militia Hezbollah. “Undoubtedly, if these criminals try to take action and conduct mischief against Iran they will suffer blows 100 times more powerful”.
“The armed forces and the IRGC must, with complete awareness regarding intelligence and with a high military, political, cultural, and security understanding of regional and intercontinental issues, be fully prepared for possible threats”, he said.
He once again described the U.S., Britain, and Israel as an “Axis of Evil”.
Safavi denounced the recent United Nations Security Council resolution against Iran over its nuclear program as “illegal” and “baseless”.

More on the War and the words of our Enemy
Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei: 'America Can Expect a Resounding Slap and a Devastating Fist-Blow From the Muslim Nation'; Hizbullah is the Muslim Nation's 'Front Line of Defense'; 'There is No Way to Confront... the Zionists... and the 'Great Satan' Except Through Martyrdom'
On August 2, 2006, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei issued a communiqué to the Islamic nation, which was published by the conservative Iranian news agency Fars.
The following are excerpts: [1]
"...What happened in Lebanon has showed everyone what America's [idea of] 'human rights' [really] is, and has revealed the [true image of] the Middle East that the American government aspires [to create].
"Today, everyone realizes that the attack on Lebanon was planned in advance, and was a Zionist-American operation - a first step towards taking control over the Middle East and over the [entire] Muslim world.
"Bush and his American partners, who are to blame for the tragic events in Lebanon, will be considered just as responsible and accountable [for these events] as the evil and depraved leaders of the Zionist regime... The silence of the U.N. and most of the Western countries, and the support [provided by] some [Western] governments - such as the despicable and notorious British government - turns them into accomplices to the crime, to varying degrees. When humanity places them on trial, today and tomorrow, in demand for an explanation... and when they are required to account [for their conduct] before God, they [too] will be punished."
"The American Regime Can Expect a Resounding Slap and a Devastating Fist-Blow From the Muslim Nation"
"Today more than ever, the Muslim peoples are disgusted and furious with the Americans. The Muslim governments, including those governments whose political statements stem from restrictions [that are placed upon them], are disgusted by the insolent and arrogant oppression and are opposed to it. The American regime can expect a resounding slap and a devastating fist-blow from the Muslim nation for its support of the Zionist crimes and criminals, after it has so brazenly violated the rights of the Muslim peoples.

Yemenite President Ali Abdallah Saleh on Al-Jazeera TV: I Hope All Countries Bordering Israel Will Join the War; Arab Countries Should Allow Transfer of Weapons & People to Lebanon & Palestine
The following are excerpts from an interview with Yemenite President Ali Abdallah Saleh, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on August 1, 2006.

Interviewer: "Do you expect the war to expand?"
Ali Abdallah Saleh: "Yes."
Interviewer: "To include Syria?"
Ali Abdallah Saleh: "I would certainly hope that it expands. I would hope so, but the Israelis would not dare. They are frustrated in South Lebanon, so how could they expand the war? All Israeli cities would be within the range of the Syrian missiles. Syria is armed, and is ready for anything. It would be foolish, even more than foolish... I say in all honesty that the Israeli government is defeated. The Israeli army is also defeated by any standard. The Israeli government will fall. It will fall soon because it misjudged things. Israeli strategy is based on brief wars, on swift strikes. By now it has been 19 days, and the equation has changed. If Israel were to act foolishly and wage war against Syria, I expect Israel would find itself in an extremely difficult situation. Perhaps they would even leave the region, because their society is a mixture [of identities], full of contradictions."
[...]
Interviewer: "Do you call upon the Syrian president to enter this war?"
Ali Abdallah Saleh: "No, I do not call upon Syria to enter the war. But if war is imposed upon it, Syria has the right to defend itself."
Interviewer: "Regarding international forces..."
Ali Abdallah Saleh: "Why shouldn't we involve Syria?"
Interviewer: "I am asking because you said you were hoping for this."
Ali Abdallah Saleh: "I hope that all the countries bordering with Israel, not just Syria, would enter the war. I meant the countries bordering with Israel. We will not enter the war officially, but we will open the borders to the fighters. We will allow the transfer of money and equipment, to support the Lebanese resistance and the Palestinian resistance in Gaza."

Imamadjihad "Death to Israel Death to America"
Iranian President Ahmadinejad Addresses Rally & Warns the U.S. &
England: The Fire of the Wrath of the Peoples is About to Erupt & Overflow
& the People Will Soon Rage; Today the Iranian People is the Owner of
Nuclear Technology
The following are excerpts from a rally with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which aired on the Iranian News Channel (IRINN) on August 1, 2006.
TO VIEW THIS CLIP: http://www.memritv.org/search.asp?ACT=S9&P1=1216
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "Look, they are destroying homes with the people inside. They are burning fields. Neither children nor adults are safe from them. With laser-guided bombs, they attack shelters of defenseless women and children, leaving them in a pool of their blood."
Crowd: "Death to Israel."
"Death to Israel."
"Death to Israel."
"Death to Israel."
"Death to Israel."
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "They have no boundaries, limits, or taboos when it comes to killing human beings. Who are they? Where did they come from? Are they human beings? 'They are like cattle, nay, more misguided.' A bunch of bloodthirsty barbarians. Next to them, all the criminals of the world seem righteous."
[...]
"They are a bunch of Zionists. Where have they come from? As you know, the rule of hegemony and the web of colonialism strived to establish a base in the heart of the Middle East. A hundred years ago, they began to devise conspiracies on the basis of a diabolical plan. Bit by bit they arrived, and backed by the devious, deceiving England, they sneaked people in, and placed them in control over the people of Palestine. Sixty years ago, by means of a highly complex plan involving psychology, politics, and propaganda, and by means of weapons, they managed to establish a false regime in the heart of the Middle East. At first they claimed: 'Since some of those [Jews] lost their families in World War II, and were killed by the German government, we must give them a land.' They established a regime, and placed them here. Afterwards, we saw that they did not make do with [the Jews] who presumably were harmed in the war. They gathered people from all over the world, brought them here, and turned them into the landlords. They expelled more than five million Palestinians from their homes with weapons and with oppression. They gathered people from all over the world, and imposed them here. Our question was: 'If these people were harmed in Europe, why do you want to compensate them out of the pockets of the people of Palestine, and with their honor and their land?' Then they claimed that these are people whose forefathers had lived in this land 2,500 years ago, and that they should therefore be the rulers of this land. We say to them that if we were to accept this principle, and were to apply it throughout the world, all the political borders in today's world would change.
"We ask you: Who lived on the land of America 250 or 300 years ago? Don't the rulers of America today rule because of the massacre of the native Americans? If we accept the principle that anybody whose forefathers ever lived on any land 2,000 or 3,000 years ago should rule today, then America should be ruled by the native Americans who are there today. There is proof that they existed. There are films, photos, documents, maps, and their descendants."
Crowd: "Death to America
"Death to America"
"Death to America"
"Death to America"
"Death to America"
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "They established a regime, aimed at threatening, trespassing, murdering, and pillaging. They established this regime so that the peoples of the region would never be tranquil. They threaten everybody. Even if a country wants to make scientific progress, they have the nerve to prevent its scientific progress under the pretext that the safety of the regime that occupied Jerusalem would be threatened by this scientific progress."
[...]
"They established that regime so that it would constitute a constant threat, and would prepare the ground for the control of the rule of hegemony, and so that they would be able to impose agreements on the people. As you know, some of the countries in our region made armament deals worth more than 150 billion dollars with America and England, under the pretext of the regime that occupied Jerusalem. Since they are under America's control, they never used these weapons against the regime that occupied Jerusalem."
[...]
"It is totally obvious from what is going on that this plan was made a long time ago. The Americans failed to implement their Greater Middle East policy. They thought that by attacking and occupying Lebanon, they would be able to revive the dead plan to establish a Greater Middle East. That is why they attacked. As you can see, their crimes know no limits.
"I hereby declare: The world must know that America and England are accomplices to each and every one of the crimes of the regime that has occupied Jerusalem. They must be held accountable."
[...]
"Look at the international organizations. We used to say that these organizations are a tool in the hands of some of the great powers, and we were told we were being pessimistic. Look at the Security Council. It was established to bring about security. But as you can see, whenever the proposal for a ceasefire is raised, the Security Council – which is responsible for security, and which should welcome the cease-fire proposal – is, unfortunately, opposed to the cease-fire proposal and to preventing the killing of women and children. I hereby declare: This behavior of the Security Council is a mark of eternal shame on the forehead of the U.N. and those who control it."
[...]
"Everybody knows that this regime [Israel] can do nothing without the orders and backing of America and its intimate friend, England. That's why we have declared these two regimes are responsible for all the crimes of the insubordinate Zionist regime."
[...]
"It is inconceivable that they allow themselves to make decisions to attack and totally destroy a certain country, and then, on the basis of a few agreements, they bring groups from the countries supporting this corrupt regime [Israel], and deploy them along the borders, in order to oppress the people of the region even more. They must know that those days are over. The peoples have awoken.
"The Lebanese scene is like a mirror. It displays the criminal essence of the rule of hegemony and the false claims of the great powers to support human rights, freedom, and democracy. At the same time, it exhibits the oppression of the Lebanese people.
"Today, Hizbullah in Lebanon is the standard-bearer of the resistance of all the monotheistic peoples, of the seekers of justice, and of the free people. Hassan Nasrallah is shouting the loud cry of the vigilant human consciences. Today, Hizbullah stands tall as the representative of all the peoples, all the vigilant consciences, all the monotheistic people, all the seekers of justice, and all free people of the world, against the rule of hegemony. Until now, with the help of Allah, [Hizbullah] is winning, and, Allah willing, it will reach the ultimate victory in the near future."
[...]
"I hereby demand that all the peoples declare their position regarding these crimes. It is inconceivable for people to play a double game in the Middle East and Lebanon. On the one hand, they maintain cooperation and economic and political ties with the Zionist criminals, and on the other hand, they wish to appear as supporters of human rights, of the oppressed, and of peace. They all must declare their position. I call upon all the governments to remove the restrictions upon their peoples. The peoples have become vigilant today, and are studying the scene with precision and awareness. The peoples are keeping record of the behavior of all the governments, the officials, and the groups. All these crimes are engraved on the hearts of the peoples. Soon, the people will begin to move, and, Allah willing, they will drag these criminals to the defendant's bench."
[...]
"I declare, before all the dear people of Bojnourd, that in light of America and England's behavior, it has become clear that they don't have what it takes to participate in international forums. They don't have what it takes to sit in the Security Council, and to have a right of veto. They themselves are guilty and criminal, and they must be placed on trial."
[...]
"When I see the behavior of America, England, and their other accomplices in recent days, I get the impression that they are preparing even greater crimes. I warn them: Know that the fire of the wrath of the peoples is about to erupt and overflow. If you do not put an end to your crimes, know that the ocean of the peoples will soon rage. When the peoples begin to move, they will drag everybody to the defendant's bench, and will remove them from the throne of power."
[...]
"Today, the Iranian people is the owner of nuclear technology. Those who want to talk with our people should know what people they are talking to. If some believe they can keep talking to the Iranian people in the language of threats and aggressiveness, they should know that they are making a bitter mistake. If they have not realized this by now, they soon will, but then it will be too late. Then they will realize that they are facing a vigilant, proud people."

Marine Names Murtha in Defamation Suit
Congressman Discussed Killings Involving Serviceman's Squad in Haditha, Iraq
By Josh White
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, August 2, 2006; Page A05
A Marine Corps staff sergeant who led the squad accused of killing two dozen civilians in Haditha, Iraq, will file a lawsuit today in federal court in Washington claiming that Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.) defamed him when the congressman made public comments about the incident earlier this year.
Attorneys for Frank D. Wuterich, 26, argue in court papers that Murtha tarnished the Marine's reputation by telling news organizations in May that the Marine unit cracked after a roadside bomb killed one of its members and that the troops "killed innocent civilians in cold blood." Murtha also said repeatedly that the incident was covered up.
Telephone calls yesterday to Murtha's office in Washington were referred to his district office in Pennsylvania, and calls there were not returned. A Marine Corps spokesman declined to comment yesterday on the Haditha investigation or the lawsuit.

Hezbollywood? Evidence mounts that Qana collapse and deaths were staged
By Reuven Koret July 31, 2006
It was to be a perfect Hollywood ending for Hezbollah. Just as the Israeli bombing of the village of Qana in 1996 brought a premature end to Israel's Operation "Grapes of Wrath," so too a sequel of Qana II could change, once and for all, the direction of Israel's current summer blockbuster, "Change of Direction." Ten years ago, world condemnation of an errant Israeli shell that hit a civilian compound forced then-PM Shimon Peres to curtail the offensive against terror bases.
The setting was also perfect: Kana was again being used as a primary site for launching rockets against Israeli cities. The IDF reported that more than 150 rockets had been launched from Qana and its vicinity at Israeli civilians, wreaking destruction in Kiryat Shmona, Maalot, Nahariya and Haifa. It was only a matter of time before the Israeli Air Force would come for a visit, using pinpoint targeting of the sites used to launch rockets, Hezbollah logistical centers and weapon storage facilities.
On the morning of July 30, according to the IDF, the air force came in three waves. In the first, between midnight and one in the morning, there was a strike at or near the building that eventually collapsed.
Brent Sadler of CNN reports that the Israeli ordnance did not even hit the building but landed "20 or 30 meters" from the structure.

Stage-Managed Massacre
By Robert Spencer
FrontPageMagazine.com August 2, 2006
“The Israeli air strike on the Lebanese village of Qana early Sunday morning did more than kill 57 civilians,” says Jefferson Morley in the Washington Post. “According to a wide range of commentary in the international media, it inflamed already boiling public opinion in the Arab world against Israel, undermined what little support the United States has among the Lebanese people, and illuminated the continuing inability of Israel and the United States to achieve their goal of decisively weakening Hezbollah.” The Hindustan Times editorialized that “with Qana, one senses that the Israelis’ definition of ‘collateral damage’ has started to bear a striking resemblance to that of the very terrorist organisation that they are keen to destroy.” At a rally outside the State Department building protesting the Qana “massacre” on Monday, Leftist protestors chanted, “Hey, Rice! What do you say? How many kids have you killed today?”; “Israel Out of Lebanon! Ceasefire, Now”; and “Shame! Shame! Shame, on you!” An Australian Muslim in Qana told Australia’s Herald Sun: “I would say a few hundred have died. This isn’t war, it’s genocide.”
Except for one little detail: it is increasingly clear that the Qana “massacre” was a stage-managed Hizballah production, designed precisely to enflame international sentiment against Israel and compel the Israelis to accept a ceasefire that would enable the jihad terrorist group to gain some time to recover from the Israeli attacks. Some of the principal evidence for this:
