About 1,000 people rallied on Independence Mall today to voice their opposition to proposed federal legislation that would crack down on illegal immigrants; their employers; and churches, charities and other groups that help them. that's right its called PROSECUTING CRIMINALS!
The protesters, largely Latino immigrants, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS waved Mexican flags and carried signs that read in Spanish and English, "We are workers, not terrorists," "Reward Work" and "No to H.R. 4437." They DON'T want to be PROSECUTED for breaking the law, entering the country ILLEGALLY, not paying taxes in a city that's over taxed, and stealing jobs from locally unemployed Philadelphians that bloat our welfare roles. They also don't want the Businesses that BREAK THE LAW by hiring them to be punished.
That bill, known as the Border Protection, Anti-Terrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act, is one of several rival immigration reform proposals that Congress will consider in the next month.
Advocates for ILLEGAL immigrants consider the Border Protection Act, drafted by by Reps. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisc. And Peter King, R-N.Y. and passed by the House of Representatives in December, to be the most draconian.
Illegal immigrants, who now face deportation if apprehended, would be charged with a felony punishable by prison time. Which they should be. The act also significantly increases financial penalties against employers who hire undocumented workers and would classify groups that assist them, including churches, as "alien smugglers." Which is what they are.
"H.R. 4437 shows how much racism is alive and well," said Angel Cordero, of the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey. "Has America lost its mind?" No have you lost your mind? America was founded on LEGAL immigration, not by a bunch of CRIMINALS that broke into the country in the dark. It is NOT RACIST to demand that people OBEY THE LAW. Anyone that calls prosecution of CRIMINALS a RACIST ACT is an ASSHOLE.
The Valentine's Day rally was part of "A Day Without an ILLEGAL Immigrant," which called on illegal immigrants - particularly Mexicans in the Philadelphia restaurant industry - to stage a one-day work stoppage. The holiday is the second-most-popular day of the year for dining out, according to the Pennsylvania Restaurant Association.
The strike was designed to demonstrate the economic contribution of undocumented They're are not undocumented they are Criminal trespassers that need to be rounded up and REMOVED. "shadow workers" and to make employers realize that they have a stake in helping to scuttle the Sensenbrenner-King bill, organizers said. Yeah the stakes are that they can be prosecuted for breaking the law, we can't have that can we.

At least six members of the Minutemen, a vigilante They are NOT vigilantes they are people concerned about the damage being caused by the hordes of CRIMINALS that are swarming across our borders. border control group, and others opposed to illegal immigration held a counter-rally across the street, in front of the Liberty Bell.

What I want to know is what did the Philly Police do about the hundreds of CRIMINAL ILLEGALS that were lining the Streets in Philly? I know the answer NOTHING. In a city that has had the majority of its officials either under indictment for bribes or ILLEGAL campaign contributions, a Mayor that has had his office bugged by the FBI, and has been run by a corrupt Democrat machine for over 40 years. It wouldn't surprise me if they had a representative there to make sure they were all registered to vote.
